PilotSOEL-12M meeting
Th PilotSOEL project 12M meeting was held at 17-18th September 2024 in University of Ljubljana
PilotSOEL Project partners met at 17 -18th September, in Slovenia for the project M12 meeting organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
The project is running according to the plan and good progress has been achieved during the first year. Cells manufactured with novel techniques and materials are being tested at DTU and Elcogen. Promising initial results have been obtained with PVD- and ALD-deposited barrier and protective coatings by Naco and Beneq, and the coating compositions will be finalized and optimized during the next few months. First generation Optical Inspection System for stack assembly and quality monitoring has been realized at Elcogen facilities, and it will be further improved and upgraded into next generation and final version during the course of the project.
University of Ljubljana has started to present its activities in the field of life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA) of the innovative and sustainable SOEL technology developed in the project. Preliminary results show promising results in terms of the environmental and economic potential of the PilotSOEL development during the first 12 months. The LCA and TEA models will be continuously developed and optimised in close cooperation with the technical and experimental project partners. The final LCA and TEA results will be published and presented at the end of the project.
Next physical project meeting will take place in March 2025 at Elcogen facilities in Estonia. Meanwhile, stay tuned for more project news – we will soon publish results from the first public deliverables – and don’t forget to visit the project website also!
